This year Food Basket Activity is very different, special and bittersweet. It is done in commemoration of our departed youth, Samboy Quiambao who died last September 04, 2009. It was agreed upon that it will serves as a yearly memorial event for him (I am also absent in the activity.
The youth group had planned, prepared and participated in the event from marketing to distribution of bags of goods with personalized prayers and letters inside. On the 17th of December, the group facilitated games on the recently concluded Christmas Party of Sta. Cruz Elementary School (Porac, Pampanga) which was well attended by students and parents in cooperation with the Parents-Teachers Association (PTA). It is delighting to know that as early as their elementary years they welcome the idea of God and its sovereignty. Come 22nd and 23rd of December, the youth geared up for the caroling and serenading households with their God given talents in music as they distributed the packed goods. The households were pre-selected so as to have an organized food distribution. They were the Malabni Area and Villa Juanita which were the last year’s place and the ministry area for outreached before the NLM Philippines ceased its ministry there. The households who have received the packed food were also prayed. Their reception to the group is overwhelming. Lou served as the guitarist, Jaimee, Joy, Rina, Rachelle where among the carolers and stayed within the group from packing of goods until distribution. Elaine and Darwin (Joseph’s friends and are private school teachers) also participated in the event. The event was also graced by the mother of Samboy, Veronica Quiambao whom in one way or another the event aided in her fast recovery from the sudden loss of her son. Indeed, Giving is the message of Christmas since our Father in Heaven gave His only Son for us to be saved! To God be the Glory!
Thanks to Pastor Ray Puen of NLM California for making this happened,
